Education Department – Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant supports the Educational Team that currently includes:

N2N Jack Parent Reading Program – The literacy support program began during the 2003-2004 school year and has evolved into the Jack Parent Reading Program. Trained volunteers help students in elementary school improve their reading skills through one-on-one support during the school day. What began in one school with 15 students and three tutors has grown to include 14 schools, 250 students who are seen one-on-one by 120 volunteers.

N2N Math Success Program – The math program began in February 2016 to help grade 7 & 8 students from Westview and Annunciation of Our Lord schools. The program utilizes JUMP Math Essentials to build fundamental math skills and also has a homework help component. The program is supported on-site by staff and volunteers with an ideal ratio of 1:3, one tutor to three students. Last year, there were 27 students and 21 volunteers involved in the math program. This program is funded through the Hamilton Community Foundation-ABACUS Grant.
The Administrative Assistant is aligned with Neighbour to Neighbour’s Mission, Vision and Values. They value and respect N2N volunteers are equal members of our team. They work side by side with staff and volunteers to achieve our goals. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for staff and volunteers in both programs.
