Director, Community Food
Neighbour to Neighbour (N2N) is hiring a Director of Community Food to oversee the Hamilton Community Food Centre (HCFC). The successful candidate will be a proven leader and experienced manager with a demonstrated passion for food and justice. They will be flexible and entrepreneurial, and committed to creating impact for the community.
The HCFC is located in the Rolston neighbourhood and brings people together to grow, cook, share and advocate for good food. Since opening its doors in 2017 it has built a robust suite of programs, including regular drop-in meals, community kitchens and gardens, children and youth programs, community action training and a community advocacy office.
The Director of Community Food plans, directs, and monitors the quality and delivery of the Community Food Centre programs in a consultative, participatory and team oriented management style. The role supervises 5 direct reports, and is a key player in the overall leadership team at N2N. It is a full time salaried position.
The HCFC is one of N2N main programs. For over 30 year’s N2N has been a community hub, providing diverse programs and services through three departments: Community Food, Education Services, and Family Services.
