Resource Counselling

Goals

• Accessible and culturally sensitive information and resources to families/individuals in a safe and supportive environment
• Validation of client’s experience and help with the identification of options
• Assistance with a variety of issues related to poverty, employment, family violence, health concerns, and legal problems
• Links clients with appropriate community services and support systems
• Networks, liaise and advocates for clients with other agencies
• Network one-on-one with clients in need of support
• Provides Counselling to those experiencing violence in their househpld

How you can help...

• We need your commitment and your time
• We are looking for individuals with Post Secondary Education and experience working with people
• Clear Criminal Reference certificate
• Successful completion of training program
• Minimum one year commitment, 3 hour weekly shift
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Knowledge of the resources in the community
• Good communication and listening skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Dependable, empathy and understanding
• Ability to speak a different language is a huge asset
